Note from the Head of School

Thank you for taking the time to inquire about Saint Brigid Academy, launching in the 2024-25 school year.

The plan is to continue to keep many of the strong Saint Brigid traditions while slowly implementing changes that will increasingly benefit our programming. Saint Brigid is a Micro Catholic School, a designation by the National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA). A Micro-Catholic School means we are a Christ-centered, community-based, whole-student model with less than a 150-student body.

Saint Brigid intentionally operates with a small student population distributed into multiage classrooms. Students learn collaboratively as a cohesive learning community and independently to achieve academic goals at the unique pace of each student.

In doing so, we are then able to provide opportunities for our students including project-based learning (STREAM), station rotation within the classroom, and leveled reading and math groups across grade levels.

All of our English Language Arts teachers are in the midst of Wilson Reading Systems training and will have Level 1 certifications within the next year and a half. We intend for our math educators to also undergo special training. There will be additional training for all teachers in differentiated instruction and multiage classrooms.

Along with these innovations, the Department of Catholic Schools supports us in making a change to our institution's name: Saint Brigid Academy. This keeps the integrity and tradition of what has always been at Saint Brigid but also showcases the new academic model.

We are the first in Northern California to offer Catholic education but with an inclusion school model.

I feel blessed to be your Head of School, to carry us over through this transition, and to watch how our gem of a school grows in this innovative structure in the years to come.
