CURRENTLY in the 3rd Grade....

What's Happening

Back to School Night- Sept 3 at 7:00 pm

Picture Day- Tuesday Sept 9. Complete uniform for these
pictures.

Please join us for any and all of the school masses. The children
love having you be a part of their school day. The school masses
this month are:

School Mass at the Cathedral- Wed Sept 10 at 9:00. If you are
walking with us we leave St. Brigid at 8:15 am.

School Mass in the Auditorium- Friday Oct 3 at 8:30. The 3rd
grade is in charge of this mass in honor of St. Francis.

IOWA Testing- Sept 15-Sept 24. We will be doing our testing in
the morning so please avoid being absent or late on these days.

PTG Instillation Mass at the Cathedral- Wed Sept 17 at 6:00 pm

Field Trip to Marine Mammal Center- Wed Oct 8. We will
leave school at 8:30 am and return at 2:30 pm.

What We are Studying This Month

Religion: Mary's Birthday (Sept. 8), The Holy Spirit, Sacraments
of Initiation, Showing God's Love to One Another

Math: Numeration- hundreds, thousands, ten thousands,
comparing and ordering numbers

Rounding- finding the halfway, rounding up to 4 digit numbers

Reading: Comprehension Skills-Sequence, Drawing Conclusions,
Author's Purpose, Cause and Effect

English: Grammar- statement, question, command run-on
sentence

Writing Style- Poetry, Personal Narrative

Social Studies: What is a Community?, California Communities

Science: Habitats of Living Things

Spanish: Los Saludos, Los Colores, Los Numersos, Las Figuras

Geometricas

Odd and Ends
It looks as if every one has just about all their school supplies.
