FIFTH GRADE NEWS

Welcome back to school.

The fifth grade is off to a great start.

For the first quarter we will be doing a little exploring
into the 60's (music, trivia, history, culture, counterculture,) just
for fun it's groovy.  

Next quarter we will dive  into the 70's and so on....  

Please remind your child that homework is their responsibility to
write down and complete at home or aftercare.  It is not the
parents responsibility to pack the work in the child's backpack.  I
won't accept that excuse from a child.

Homework is checked off every morning. They should not leave
it at home.

Reading is a very important part of fifth grade life.  The children
have received their first reading log.  Each student must read for
at least 20 minutes every day for homework. (Monday- Friday)

They need to record it on their reading log each time.
Parents are to initial the reading log on Wednesdays.
At the end of each month I will collect the log and use the log as
part of  their reading grades.
